A project by roberta de marchi with stim italia
to help the afghan women
threatened by talibans.

Versione in Italiano

Roberta’s community is made of very special women, strong and independent, rich of dreams and united by the desire of creating something concrete and unique for themselves and for their families.

Beyond all the differences in terms of culture or religion, they felt deeply involved in the terrible situation in which the women in Afghanistan are living after the Talibans’ return to power. They so decided to make something to help those women and to support their right to live freely, to dream, to study and to learn a job able to make them independent and support their families.

Even a small community, as Roberta’s one, can make great things if it works together with the heart, to an infinite patchwork of love and feminine support.

The Objective

To support the Foundation Pangea Onlus in the implementation of humanitarian corridors to take outside Afghanistan women and children in life-threatening conditions and to offer them a better and more safe life, through a real hospitality including a place in which live, an education and a job.

The Project

The project foresees to make some quilts to be sold by auction, the proceeds will be completely donated to Pangea Onlus to finance their projects to help the Afghan women and their children.

The whole Roberta’s community of quilters and creatives was involved to collect fabrics, training blocks, not used or never completed tops. Stim Italia, with the support of some producers, will donate the battings and the fabrics for the quilts’ back, and the quilts will be set up and quilted by the amazing community’s women. Stim Italia will then take charge of all the needed expenses for the quilts’ setting up, with the exception of eventual sponsors offering to donate some material.

The project has been already launched and the amazing Roberta’s community replied with enthusiasm and passion, sending their material and offering their availability for sewing and quilting. Some women association also offered to cooperate to this all-feminine project, conceived by the women for other women..
